Kitchen’s: A True “Nail-Biting” Dining Experience in Mineola

Kitchen's Hardware & Deli
Kitchen’s has won a number of awards for its food over the years.

There’s only one place we know of in all of East Texas where you can buy some galvanized nails and eat a great chicken-fried steak at the same time, under the same roof. And it’s in our favorite town in East Texas: Mineola!

At Kitchen’s Hardware & Deli, they offer the tastiest homemade sandwiches, hamburgers, salads, and pie between Terrell and Longview. And on Friday and Saturday nights, Kitchen’s transforms into a first-rate steakhouse that serves up not only the best cuts of prime beef and the finest seafood dishes, but also some of the best live entertainment in East Texas to enhance your dining experience.

Originally built as a hardware store in the early 1900s, one of Kitchen’s subsequent owners decided to incorporate a deli into the store in the mid-1980s. The deli items soon became a more popular draw than the hardware. Then the current owner, Jim Bittner, purchased Kitchen’s in 2002 and expanded the menu to create more of a dining experience for his patrons. And even though the main attraction is now the food, you can still buy some interesting hardware items in the store.

Kitchen’s has won a number of awards for its food over the years and consistently gets great reviews on websites such as TripAdvisor, Yelp, Facebook, and Google.

So the next time you’re in Mineola, stop on in to Kitchen’s, browse the hardware, browse the menu, and then treat yourself to a unique experience (and don’t dare leave without a big slice of Kitchen’s homemade coconut cream pie)!
